Amsterdam is situated between Belgium and Germany, two of the biggest drinking countries. You will therefore not lack in finding places to visit to drink or eat. Amsterdam is a city that lives at night with varied genres of facilities to visit such as the cafes, the restaurants, as well as tearooms and 'coffeeshops'and the famous Red Light District. A wide range of places are available to please all its visitors and its inhabitants. The food is not very localised and it will be easier to find some exotic type of food rather than specialities. The Dutch tend to eat later than us British, with their lunch hour being from 1pm and diner around 7pm.

Amsterdam is one of the many European cities that does not sleep at night. There is a wide selection of things to do, from shows, museums open late at night, walks as well as pubs and bars open till the small hours in the morning. As well as the obvious 'Red Light District' full of bars and late night clubs, you will also find places doted all around the city that may suit your style and fancy more.

As a city full of history, Amsterdam has many attractions which should fill your days till your heart's content whether you like arts, music, architecture or any other type of attractions to bungee jumping in the summer. With the Rembrandt House Museum, Anne Frank's House, the Royal Palace as historical places to see or the quaint squares all around the city such as Dam Square, Leidseplein Square, Rembrandt Square and the Museum Square you have plenty to see on foot. There is also no shortage of music in Amsterdam with its two classical orchestras as well as various open air concerts in the summer, there will always be plenty to do in Amsterdam.
Amsterdam Transportation
Amsterdam is a very friendly city, where inhabitants as well as tourists use bicycle rather than cars to make their way round town, these can be hired throughout the city. As well as the usual trains, metro and trams available throughout the city you can also travel along the Canal, on the Canal bikes.
