It is a terminus station of a branch of the West Coast Main Line which connects London to the West Midlands, the North West, North Wales and the Central Belt of Scotland. Liverpool Lime Street is the largest and oldest railway station in Liverpool and the station's facade is interesting in that it resembles a French Chateau.
