It is a terminus station of a branch of the West Coast Main Line which connects London to the West Midlands, the North West, North Wales and the Central Belt of Scotland. Liverpool Lime Street is the largest and oldest railway station in Liverpool and the station's facade is interesting in that it resembles a French Chateau. The station has a staffed ticket office and passengers are also able to collect tickets purchased in advance (for example, on the internet) from one of the automatic ticket machines located in the station.Facilities at the station include ATM's, First Class Lounge, pay phones, public wifi, cafes, shops, toilets and baby changing facilities.Passenger services departing the station are operated by East Midlands Trains, First TransPennine Express, London Midland, Northern Rail, Virgin Trains and Merseyrail.
