London Paddington Swansea stations

London Paddington Train Station

London Paddington railway station, operated by Network Rail, is a main line railway station and terminus for the First Great Western services to west London, the Thames Valley and long distance inter city services to south west England and South Wales. The station is also the terminus for the Heathrow Express, a high speed service linking central London with Heathrow Airport. The station has a staffed ticket office and passengers are also able to collect tickets purchased in advance (for example, on the internet) from one of the automatic ticket machines located in the station.

Passenger facilities at the station include ATM's, First Class Lounge, pay phones, public wifi, cafes and shops, toilets and baby changing facilities.

Passenger services departing the station are operated by First Great Western, Chiltern Railways and Heathrow Express. Between them they offer passengers destinations including Heathrow Airport, Reading, Didcot Parkway, Swindon, Bristol Temple Meads, Bath Spa, Cardiff Central, Bristol Parkway, Newbury, Exeter St Davids and Chippenham.

London Paddington is also served by four London Underground lines: the Bakerloo, Circle, District and Hammersmith & City lines. Although Paddington is not served by the Central line, the short walk to Lancaster Gate tube station is taken by many commuters heading for the West End or the City, as it can be quicker than alternative routes.

Parking is available at the station for 152 vehicles and is open 24 hours a day.

Swansea Train Station

Located in South Wales, Swansea railway station offers passengers services to destinations including Manchester Piccadilly, Hereford, Shrewsbury, Camarthen, Cardiff Central, Cheltenham Spa, London Paddington, Bristol Parkway, Pembroke Dock, Fishguard Harbour and Milford Haven. Some of the Arriva Trains Wales boat trains to and from Fishguard Harbour commence at Swansea and connect with the Stena Line ferry to Rosslare Europort in Ireland with a daily morning and evening service in both directions.

Swansea railway station is operated by Arriva Trains Wales and is the terminus of a short branch line off the South Wales Main Line, which itself is a branch off the Great Western Main Line, and the West Wales Line which connects Swansea through Carmarthenshire to Pembrokeshire in West Wales. Passenger services calling at the station are operated by Arriva Trains Wales and First Great Western.
