Montrose Train Station

Montrose railway station, operated by First ScotRail, serves the Scottish town of Montrose in Angus. The station lies on the Edinburgh to Aberdeen Line and is located approximately 90 miles to the north of Edinburgh Waverley railway station. The station overlooks the Montrose Basin which is part of the estuary of the South Esk which forms a tidal basin near the town. The station has a staffed ticket office although passengers should note that it is not open in the late evening. Passengers are able to collect tickets purchased in advance (for example, on the internet) from one of the automatic ticket machines located in the station.

Facilities at the station include pay phones, a cafe and toilets. Passengers should note that ATM's and baby changing facilities are not available at the station.

Princes Mall (formerly the Waverley Shopping Centre), which occupies a column of space (formerly Waverley Market, a live cattle market) nestling between Waverley Station, Waverley Bridge, and Princes' Street, opened in 1985. This mall has benefited from the installation of escalators on the Waverley Steps to Princes' Street in 2011.
