Oxford railway station, operated by First Great Western, serves the Oxfordshire city of Oxford. Renowned for its historic university, the city's railway station is approximately half a mile to the west of the city centre and lies on the line between London Paddington and Hereford via Worcester Shrub Hill. It is also the starting point for local trains to London Paddington, Reading, Worcester and Bicester Town. The station has a staffed ticket office although passengers should note that it is not open in the late evening. Passengers are able to collect tickets purchased in advance (for example, on the internet) from one of the automatic ticket machines located in the station. Facilities at the station include ATM's, pay phones, public wifi, cafes, shops, toilets and baby changing facilities.passenger services calling at the station are operated by Chiltern Railways, CrossCountry and First Great Western.
