Southeastern Trains began operations in south east England on 1 April 2006, replacing the former publicly owned train operator South Eastern Trains |
Southeastern Trains serves the commuter routes to south east London, Kent, and parts of East Sussex with it’s London hubs at Charing Cross, Blackfriars, Cannon Street, and Victoria. A flagship feature of the Southeastern Trains franchise is the express service between London St Pancras, Ashford and the Kent coast, set to be introduced in December 2009. Called High Speed 1, this line is the first major new railway to be built in the UK in over a century and will provide a 68 mile high-speed link between St Pancras in London and the Channel Tunnel in Kent. |
