 SpeedFerries operated the all year round low cost fast ferry service from Dover to Boulogne.
Towards the end of 2008 their vessel was seized in the port of Boulogne due to un-paid port dues and taxes and SpeedFerries was placed into administration shortly after.
Though the administrators attempted to sell the operation as a going concern, unfortunately a buyer was not found and the company was subsequently closed.
There are however plenty of alternative options to get you to France including a new service from Dover to Boulogne operated by LD Lines.
