Stansted Airport Train Station

Stansted Airport railway station, operated by Greater Anglia, serves London Stansted Airport which is located in Essex, England. The station lies at the end of a short branch line off the West Anglia Main Line which connects London Liverpool Street with Ipswich and Norwich. The station was opened in 1991 as part of construction of a new airport terminal. The station was built as a through station for a possible future extension of the line towards Braintree although though a hotel since built immediately to the east of the station now prevents this. The station has a staffed ticket office and passengers are also able to collect tickets purchased in advance (for example, on the internet) from one of the automatic ticket machines located in the station.

Facilities at the station include ATM's, pay phones, public wifi, cafes, shops and toilets. Passengers should note that baby changing facilities are not available at the station.

Passenger services calling at the station are operated by CrossCountry and Greater Anglia and offer services towards London Liverpool Street (using the Stansted Express), Cambridge, Birmingham New Street, Peterborough, Leicester and Bishops Stortford.
