Hibernian Football Club was founded in 1875 by Irish immigrants and currently (2013-14 season) compete in the Scottish Premiership. The club's Irish heritage is still reflected in its name, colours and badge. Hibs, the more common shortened version of the club's name, have won the Scottish league championship four times, most recently in 1952.

Edinburgh Waverley railway station is approximately a 25 minute walk to the football ground. The number 1 bus can be taken from nearby Leith Street which will take you to within a few hundred meters of the stadium.
