Newcastle United

Newcastle United Football Club was founded in 1892 by the merger of Newcastle East End and Newcastle West End, and has played at its current ground, St James' Park ever since. The ground was developed into an all-seater stadium in the 1990's and has a capacity of 52,387. The club currently (2013-14 season) compete in the Premier League, the top tier of English football.

St. James' Metro station is adjacent to the football stadium.
