reading Football Club was founded in 1871 and although it is one of the oldest teams in England it did not join the Football League until 1920. The club currently (2013-14 season) compete in the Championship, the second tier of English football. The club play their home matches at the 24,161 capacity Madejski Stadium, names after the club's chairman Sir John Madejski.
