Stockport County Football Club were founded in 1883 as Heaton Norris Rovers and adopted their current name in 1890 after the creation of the County Borough of Stockport. They currently (2013-14 season) compete in the Conference North, the sixth tier of English football. They play their home matches at the 10, 841 Edgeley Park stadium.
